Changes to Coeliac prescribing
Following national consultation on the availability of gluten-free foods on NHS prescription, the government has decided to restrict gluten-free prescribing to bread and mixes only.
A wide range of Gluten-Free foods is now readily available in supermarkets and other food outlets, meaning that the ability of patients to obtain these foods without a prescription has greatly increased.
The following letter has been sent to all patients who currently receive gluten free products on prescriptions.

Changes with ear syringing/irrigation
As a result of funding changes within the NHS, we are no longer funded for ear syringing to clear earwax. In order to provide the best service for our patients we will continue to offer ear syringing, but only after patients have used ear drops- preferably sodium bicarbonate with olive oil as an alternative. The requirement is 3 drops into each ear for 3 minutes, 3 times a day for 3 weeks, as this technique will resolve 95% of earwax problems. We cannot offer an ear syringing appointment unless you have done this.
